For Remote Teams

Globally distributed. Locally compliant — in every Indian city.

Whether your India team works from Bangalore, Jaipur, Kochi, or Chandigarh, we ensure every remote employee is legally employed under Indian law — with correct city-level registrations, on-time payroll, and zero compliance gaps, no matter where they work from.

Built for Remote-First Companies

Your team works from anywhere. Indian law applies everywhere they are.

Remote-first companies love the flexibility India’s talent pool offers — engineers in Pune, finance staff in Ahmedabad, customer support in Jaipur. But each city comes with its own Shops & Establishment registration, professional tax rate, and local labour law nuances that most companies don’t know to account for.

We handle city-level compliance for every member of your distributed India team, so your employees are always legally employed in the city they’re working from — not just in the city where you first set things up.

What We Solve

Remote team compliance challenges — and how we solve them

Running a distributed India team surfaces compliance issues most remote-first companies discover only when something goes wrong. We address them before they become problems.

Multi-city compliance varies by state and municipality

India’s labour law compliance differs by state and city. Running a remote team across Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai means different Shops & Establishment registrations, professional tax rates, and municipal obligations. We manage each city’s requirements separately so you don’t have to.

Contractor vs. employee misclassification risk

Many remote-first companies start with contractors for flexibility. But in India, misclassification carries significant financial penalties and legal exposure. We help you structure each engagement correctly from the start — and manage both employees and contractors under the right framework.

Permanent establishment risk from informal arrangements

Employing workers in India through informal arrangements — direct payments, contractor agreements that look like employment — creates permanent establishment (PE) risk for your home-country business. Our proper EOR structure eliminates this exposure by ensuring the employment relationship is legally clean and clearly defined.

How It Works

Onboarding your remote India team — wherever they are

Our remote-team onboarding process is designed for the reality of distributed hiring — where your employees might be in different cities and you need compliance to follow them.

  1. Tell us where your team members are located

Share each employee’s city of work along with their role and compensation. We map out the city-specific compliance requirements before we start onboarding anyone.

  2. We handle city-level registrations & compliance setup

Shops & Establishment registrations, professional tax enrolments, and state-specific statutory requirements are set up for each city where you have employees. No action required from your side.

  3. Remote onboarding within 48 hours

Compliant employment contracts are drafted and sent to each employee. PF, ESI, and health insurance are set up. Every employee receives a welcome kit and their payroll is configured — without them needing to be in a specific city or office.

  4. Monthly payroll, anywhere in India

Each month we process payroll across all cities, file all applicable statutory returns, and send you a single consolidated invoice. If an employee relocates to a different Indian city, notify us and we update their compliance automatically.

Customer testimonial

Remote team questions, answered

Still have questions? Contact us and we’ll respond within one business day.

Can employees work from any Indian city?
Yes. We cover 15+ Indian cities and can accommodate any location where your employee works. If they work from a city we haven’t previously registered in, we handle the new city registration before their start date. If an employee relocates, just let us know and we update their compliance to their new city.
How do you handle different state-level compliance rules across cities?
We maintain city-specific compliance profiles for every location we operate in. This includes Shops & Establishment registration requirements, professional tax rates and schedules, state-specific leave entitlements, and any city-level statutory additions. Each employee’s compliance is managed against their actual city of work — not a generic India-wide standard.
What’s the difference between hiring employees vs. contractors in India?
Employees receive statutory benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity, paid leave) and must be managed under Indian labour law. Contractors are engaged on a services basis with fewer statutory obligations but must genuinely work independently — consistent direction, dedicated hours, and exclusive engagements are markers of an employment relationship, not a contractor one. Misclassifying employees as contractors carries penalties under Indian law. We help you make the right call and structure each engagement correctly.
Does using an EOR create permanent establishment risk?
No — using a properly structured EOR eliminates PE risk rather than creating it. The employment relationship is legally held by Neeva Technologies, not your foreign entity. Your India team members are employees of our registered Indian company, not of your overseas business. This clean legal structure means your foreign entity has no taxable presence in India as a result of using our service. Informal arrangements (direct payments, poorly structured contractor agreements) are what create PE exposure.
